Anthropic launches tools to show companies what their AI spending actually buys

By Hamza ·

Spending reports, shared team budgets and in-app productivity surveys: Claude Enterprise wants to answer “is AI worth what we pay?”.

Anthropic, the company behind Claude, introduced new tools for Claude Enterprise customers to track what they spend on AI and where it actually helps:

  • Spending reports showing where AI is used and which tasks cost the most.
  • Shared monthly team budgets instead of strict per-employee caps.
  • In-app surveys asking employees whether AI improves their productivity.

A KPMG report cited in the article says only 12% of companies regularly compare AI’s value with its cost. Anthropic also says business data is not used to train its models by default.

What it means for you

Even if you’re not a large company, the same question applies: do your AI subscriptions earn more than they cost? A simple method for this week:

  1. List every subscription (ChatGPT, Claude, Canva, CapCut…) and its price.
  2. Next to each tool, write how many hours it saves you per month or how many customers it brought.
  3. Cancel any tool you can’t put a clear number next to.

One free tool you use every day beats three paid tools whose password you forgot.
